Heavy floods destroying dams and livelihood

Everywhere in the world right now, either we are experiencing incessant rainfall, floods, or heat waves that are bringing our days to a halt.

From June to August 2022, persistent heatwaves engulfed Europe, causing evacuations and heat-related deaths. On July 14, Portugal recorded its highest temperature of 47.0 °C (116.6 °F) in Pinho, Portugal. France recorded 40–43 °C for the first time in its history.

In the United Kingdom, temperatures surpassed 40 °C

Whereas in Asia, heavy floods and excessive rainfall were seen from January to October 2022 in the South Asian countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

With over 3,700 people killed, it has become the region’s deadliest flood since 2020.

How can we forget the Australian bushfire, which killed millions of animals?

The stories from different continents are just a complete contrast, but extremes of nature’s fury were faced by humans and animals there. This has happened because we forgot to respect nature.

These examples are an indication that humans have destroyed nature for their ambitions. We have now encountered the most lethal COVID-19. How can we prevent the extinction of our species?

Let us do these things.

1) Let us be compassionate towards fellow human beings, animals, birds, and trees. They also deserve a place to live. Indiscriminate cutting of forests and killing of animals destroy ecological balance, which leads to heat waves and sudden floods.

2) As we safeguard our own and our loved ones’ health, we must also be mindful of the health of the earth. We must understand the necessity of keeping it safe.

3) By using eco-friendly modes of transportation, appliances will be extremely beneficial in restoring nature’s ill health. The greenhouse gases that come from our vehicles and appliances must be checked. We must go green!

Let us pledge this and work for Mother Earth. Earth is not as cruel as humans. So, let’s give it a shot. Perhaps Earth will give us a second chance to live on this planet. May be!
