The 51-year-old and 70-year-old tennis veterans, along with their families, flew to Newport, a seaside city in Rhode Island, USA, to receive the medals and recognition they never dreamt of when they began their careers in tennis.
At the award-giving ceremony, Leander Adrian Paes was introduced to the audience and tennis legends by his tennis partner, Martina Navratilova, with whom he has won two major titles. She said, "He was an artist on the court, an exceptional athlete. He wielded the tennis racquet like a conductor wields a baton."
