Sarfaraz Khan, with his quick pace of 62 runs, was trying to be hostile towards the English, but then he got run out. The most noteworthy contributions were from Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. Rohit Sharma, for once in this series, might have felt like showcasing his talent and skills, scoring 131. Jadeja entertained his hometown with 112 runs.

English batsmen, even before they could come to bat on the field, were awarded five runs by Indian hospitality services. The dollies were showered on the field. But it looks too timid attack, and with Ravindran Ashwin remains unavailable for Rajkot test because of his family emergency it remains to be seen whether Indians will fight back with 10 members now or just keep on providing hospitality services.
