Sexual assault, also called rape of women, is happening across the world as we speak. From the developed United States of America to the less developed Bostwana, the frequency of one rape every 1-2 minutes to the highest rape rate across the world (source: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/rape-statistics-by-country) might change, but not the victim, who is a woman. A sexual assault victim, a Spanish woman, was given Rs. 10 lakh in Jharkhand, India, as compensation. In this case, 8 accused have been arrested so far. But, let us discuss about core issue of sexual assault occurring across the Globe. "Can compensation for the victim, 'Spanish Woman,' prevent rape by rapists worldwide?". Had the world ever focused on funding research, tracing people with rapist mindsets in society, and sending them to mental rehabilitation centres to cure their mental illness?
In this article, we will shed focus on the status of world action to end sexual assault on women and ways they can fight sexual violence and win over it.
736 Million Women Suffer Sexual violence
An astonishing figure of 736 million women—about 1 in 3 women—are victims of sexual violence—either induced by a partner or non-partner—at least once in their lifetime. This figure reveals the seriousness of the situation of women in society.
147 laws across 162 countries are in place to safeguard women, yet the sexual assaults keep happening. So, the question arises: is the world going in the right direction to end sexual violence against women?

Potential Rapists and Rapists: Identification and Treatment
For women to identify a potential rapist, it helps to escape the sexual assault. The behaviour of the potential rapists is mostly negative, owing to negative experiences they might have had with their fathers or mothers. It may be neglect or rejection by family members. They also might have a history of disruptions in their life, like debts, divorce, abandonment, or sexual abuse.
Rapists display a sense of hollowness and low self-esteem in life. Instead of making efforts to overcome challenges in life, people with a rapist mindset remain with a negative mindset. Emotional mismanagement and displaying unwanted aggression are also notable features of a rapist. Most rapists hold negative views about women and display a fixation with masculine roles.
A. Nicholas Groth, a psychologist who specializes in sexual abuse, has come up with four types of rapists. Anger Rapist, Power Rapist, Sadistic Rapist, and Opportunistic Rapist.
Anger Rapist
This type of rapist is angry and has a negative mindset. Women need to be aware that anger rapists speak in a manner that intends to degrade or humiliate them. They express profanity, and attacks are prompted by marital, occupational, or financial conflict. The rapist feels so high about his masculinity.
Power Rapist
These kinds of rapists try to stamp their masculine identity and express sexual conquest through rape. These types of rapists commit repeated assaults on women over an extended period. An early indication to avoid this type of person is when they start speaking lowly about a woman.
Sadistic Rapist
These types of rapists take pleasure in victim suffering. Watching him react to any sensitive situation will reveal his true colours. They seek sadistic pleasure in women's pain. These rapists use torture or bondage on prostitutes, promiscuous women, or women who symbolize something they want to destroy.
Opportunistic Rapist
These rapists also don't respect women. They sexually assault women and meet nonsexual needs. These are impulsive, adventure-seeking, and do sex for fun.
Paedophilia: How to Detect?
Children also become victims of rape, and unlike adults, children don't even understand what has happened to them after rapists attack them. These are fixated offenders, so parents must be mindful when they are keeping their children with others—relatives or friends. These paedophilic rapists show unusual behaviour and extreme love towards children, luring them with candies, ice creams, etc.
Explaining to children the types of touches—good and bad—and telling them how to respond is the first step to confronting the rapist.

We can't ignore potential rapists living in society; they need treatment and transformation. The needy psychiatric treatment and support provided by society help them become ordinary humans like us.
The more we ignore them, the more silently they grow. Treatment and care are a must for potential rapists.
