Padma Vibhushan awardee to Ratan Tata
Today is Ratan Tata’s 85th birthday. He is a Padma Vibhushan awardee, the 2nd highest civilian honor in India, and Padma Bhushan, the 3rd highest civilian award. He had received more than 41 honorary degrees and medals from across the globe.
Ratan Tata has created his mark, a legacy where honesty and quality have become synonyms with the brand TATA. Under his leadership, TATA group revenues grew up 40 times and profit over 50 times. But in India, another family, & son led to the downfall of one of the oldest political party, founded on 28th Dec, 138 years back- is now with just 53 public representatives elected out of 543.
Dates coincide but not stories. The two contrasting stories narrate that dynastic clans must have the caliber to deliver!
Ratan Tata’s lineage starts from Jamshedji Tata, his forefather. Jamshedji Tata is regarded as the legendary “Father of Indian Industry”, unlike some, who use the tag of ‘Gandhi’ at the back of their names from the father of India- Mahatma Gandhi for political benefits and mileage.
Jamshedji Tata revolutionized Indian business through ventures in the cotton and big iron industries.

New Indian Assurance Co. Ltd- Established in 1919 is the largest General Insurance company in India.
Taj Hotel
Taj Hotel- Established in 1903, It is considered one of the finest hotels in India. Yeah, the same hotel where on 26/11 terrorists attacked and killed innocent Indians and foreigners from across the globe. Also, near the same hotel from which some media ‘Indian Intellectuals’ reported the location of hostages to terrorists and their supporters sitting across the globe on 26/11.

Tata Nano
Ratan Tata family has a rich legacy. But he never wished to sit idle and enjoy the fruits unlike in other dynastic families where you can become a PM candidate without any qualification or credentials, just because your forefathers were leaders, Prime ministers.
Ratan Tata always cares to create products that were affordable for the average Indian consumer. Tata Nano is one such product. Though the product wasn’t hit in the market, his intention to help an average middle-class family of 4 to travel in the car is applaudable.

The most eligible, successful bachelor says Ratan Tata on his marriage says’ I came close to getting married four times, and each time I backed off in fear or for one reason or another.”
The 85-year bachelor doesn’t roam around the country on streets in a white T-shirt, but yes had created a mark of the TATA brand across India and the world.
